Safety & legal
What Listo does, what it doesn't, and what to do if something isn't right.
Introducer notice
Any agreement for work is between you and the provider. Listo is not a party to it and does not supervise the work.
Your safety
We look into reports and remove people who break the rules, but no amount of moderation can remove every risk. A few good habits go a long way.
Agree the price in writing
Confirm what's included, the price and the timing in the Listo chat before work starts.
Check the OFT register
You can look up a provider's business licence on the official OFT register.
Keep chat in the app
It gives you a record if you ever need to report something.
Be wary of big upfront payments
For small jobs, paying on completion is common. Never send money to someone you haven't agreed work with.
What can't be posted
Cannot be posted or offered: tattooing; piercing or anything breaking the skin; injections; therapy or counselling; healthcare. Also not available for now: electrical, gas, plumbing, structural work, childcare and personal care. Tasks must be in Gibraltar. Acceptable Use Policy
Your rights
Your agreement is with the provider
Questions about the quality of work or refunds are between you and them. Gibraltar consumer protection law may apply — see the Office of Fair Trading for advice.
Your address stays private
It's only shown to the provider you pick, after they accept. If you switch, their in-app access is removed (anything already seen can't be withdrawn).
Your data, your call
Download or delete your data any time from Account settings.
OFT notice
Providers who trade in Gibraltar are responsible for holding a valid Office of Fair Trading business licence or registration. When they join, every provider confirms that it's their responsibility and that turnover includes all their work, not just jobs from Listo.
That confirmation is a self-declaration. It isn't proof of licensing, and Listo doesn't check it unless a profile says exactly what was checked and when.
What we screen for
Every new task gets an automated check. Clean tasks go live straight away; anything flagged shows as "Being checked" until it's been reviewed. "General odd job" and "Something else" get exactly the same check.
Things that get a task flagged
- Phone numbers, emails or full addresses in the text
- Locations outside Gibraltar
- Words linked to services we don't allow
- Abusive, discriminatory or illegal requests
Excluded — can't be posted or offered
Also not available for now: electrical, gas, plumbing, structural work, childcare and personal care. Tasks must be in Gibraltar.
